For our Duramax Metal and Vinyl Garden Sheds we sell an optional metal foundation kit suitable for our range of ECO & TOP metal sheds.
Please note this is an “Optional” Metal Floor Frame.

You will need to buy locally sheets of 18mm Plywood or OSB Sheeting to use as your floor surface. The sheeting sits on top of the metal frame. Using our optional Floor Frame Kit is recommended as it makes for a stronger, dryer & warmer shed.
The best types of bases to screw-fix your new shed to.
A raised concrete pad
A raised concrete pad exactly the footprint size of your sheds metal base rail. If you download the Instruction manual of the shed you are buying it will tell you the exact size of the concrete Base required. Ideally the Shed Base Pad should be slightly raised above the ground level so that any rainwater will run away from the shed. Position your Shed on top of the Concrete base and Screw-fix the Shed to the Concrete pad.

A raised paved area.
Ideally using 600Ă—600 sharp smooth paving slabs. These will sit tightly together. Position your Shed on top of the Patio Slabs and Screwfix the Shed to the Patio Slabs where the shed base rail touches a slab.
We recommend that you order these for delivery from your local Hardware builders providers.

A raised timber deck area.

A raised patio area.

Always install a DPM Plastic Sheet (Damp Proof Membrane) under your base to prevent rising damp.

Shed Position & Orientation.
Position your new shed in a dry and level part of your garden or yard. Avoid installing your shed over soil/grass areas or loose stone as it is difficult to screw-fix your shed to these types of ground. It is also difficult to screw-fix a shed to a Tarmac area. Avoid the shed doors facing the prevailing South and Westerly Winds.
All shed bases need to be level. This will make it much easier for you to assemble your shed and will ensure that your doors open and close correctly.

Coola Timber Sheds.
A timber shed can also be positioned over a concrete base or paved area. But you can also position a timber shed over grass or hardcore by mounting them on one of our UC4 treated timber bases. These are very easy to install and are much cheaper than installing a concrete base or paved area. See Photo Below. Click here to see all our Timber Shed UC4 Bases.
