- For best results, top the frame with 18 mm plywood or OSB boards (available locally).
- This creates a sturdy, moisture-resistant floor inside your shed.
Recommended Base Options
- To achieve the best installation and durability, we recommend one of the following solid, level bases:
- 1. Raised Concrete Pad
- Match the pad size to your shed footprint (312 × 233.4 cm).
- Slightly elevate above ground for rainwater runoff.
- Screw-fix the shed base rail to the concrete for maximum strength.
- 2. Raised Paved Area
- Use 600 × 600 mm smooth paving slabs placed tightly together.
- Screw-fix the shed base rail to the slabs.
- 3. Raised Timber Deck or Patio Platform
- Ideal for easy setup and drainage.
- Always install a Damp Proof Membrane (DPM) beneath the base to prevent rising damp and protect your floor.
Shed Position & Orientation
- Choose a dry, level area away from grass or loose stone.
- Avoid installing directly on tarmac – it’s difficult to anchor.
- Face doors away from prevailing south-westerly winds.
- Ensure your base is completely level for smooth door alignment.
