For the perfect finish, top the frame with 18 mm OSB or plywood sheets (available locally).

Recommended Shed Base Options

To ensure your shed lasts for years, we recommend installing it on one of the following solid, level bases:

1. Raised Concrete Pad

   • Sized exactly to match your shed’s metal base rail.

   • Keeps the shed elevated for proper rainwater drainage.

   • Securely screw-fix the shed base to the pad.

2. Raised Paved Area

   • Built using 600 × 600 mm smooth paving slabs fitted tightly together.

   • Place the shed on top and screw-fix the base rail to the paving slabs.

3. Raised Timber Deck Area or Patio Platform

   • Ideal for smaller gardens or lightweight installation.

👉 Always install a DPM (Damp Proof Membrane) under your shed base to prevent rising damp and moisture damage.

Shed Position & Orientation

• Choose a dry, level area away from soft ground or grass.

• Avoid placing the shed on tarmac or loose gravel where fixing is difficult.

• Position doors away from prevailing south-westerly winds for better weather protection.

• Ensure your base is completely level — this ensures smooth door operation and easier assembly.
