- You will need to buy local sheets of 18mm Plywood or OSB Sheeting to create your final floor surface. This sheeting sits on top of the included metal floor frame.
Exact Base Size Required (Footprint)
The concrete base must be level and slightly raised to allow rainwater to run away from the shed.
🛠️ Preparing Your Shed Base
For easy assembly and correct door operation, all shed bases need to be perfectly level.
Best Base Types for Screw-Fixing:
- Raised Concrete Pad:
- Ideally, use a pad that matches the exact footprint of the shed’s metal base rail (refer to the instruction manual for precise measurements).
- Position the shed and screw-fix the base rail directly to the concrete pad.
- Raised Paved Area:
- Use sharp, smooth paving slabs (e.g., 400 mm × 400 mm) laid tightly together.
- Screw-fix the shed base rail to the slabs where contact is made.
- Raised Timber Deck or Patio Area.
Essential Installation Tip: Always install a DPM (Damp Proof Membrane) Plastic Sheet underneath your base material (concrete, slabs, etc.) to prevent rising damp from affecting the shed’s contents.
Shed Position & Orientation
- Location: Position your shed in a dry and level area of your garden or yard.
- Ground Type: Avoid installing over soil/grass, loose stone, or Tarmac, as these surfaces make proper screw-fixing difficult or impossible.
- Wind Protection: To minimize exposure, avoid having the shed doors directly facing the prevailing South and Westerly winds.
